Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The Kuiper Electronic Supply Chain team is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Material Program Management (MPM) and Sourcing team. This team is responsible for all commercial activities within the supply base for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) destined for our satellites.

This position will report to the Director, Kuiper Electronic Supply Chain.


Key job responsibilities
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Material Program Managers (MPM), Sourcing Managers, and Buyers
• Monitor and drive effective execution within the Procure to Pay (P2P) cycle
• Own strategic supply chain architecture planning and implementation including identifying and evaluating new sources, managing Approved Vendor Lists (AVL) in partnership with stakeholders, and lead supplier management activities
• Act as primary point of escalation for supply chain commercial issues
• Analyze new spend requests, supplier quotes, and changes using data driven evaluation and estimation practices
• Partner with Planning and Finance to ensure that projected spend is within budget and that approvals are worked in advance
• Create and implement an effective Unit Cost Management program
• Provide guidance, education, monitoring, and support to the team for Contracting, Negotiating, and Cost Estimation and Evaluation activities
• Monitor material availability through a Clear to Build (CTB) process to ensure uninterrupted production
• Report status to senior leadership in a clear and succinct manner
• Develop, document, and implement best practices within the team while ingesting and replicating best practices from other teams
• Lead team to execute annual improvement plans

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•7+ years of purchasing, supply chain, or other relevant experience
•Experience working directly with Engineering and Quality teams
•Demonstrated experience in hiring and developing high-performing teams
•Extensive experience in Contracting, Supplier Management, Cost Management, and Negotiation
•Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions and evaluate trade-offs
•Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
•Willingness to operate as an Individual Contributor as necessary to get the job done while continuing to lead the team
•Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Master's degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other technical field
•Familiarly with SAP, E2Open, Coupa, and Quicksight
•Direct experience managing contracting and cost management activities in, preferably in aerospace or defense industries
•Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective supply chain architectures in regulated industries

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $132,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $218,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
