Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Are you passionate about developing mission-critical software systems? As part of the Atlas team, you'll build and maintain the backbone software infrastructure that powers our entire organization. Your work will include:

- Creating systems and services for ingesting, processing, and visualizing vast amounts of satellite telemetry data

- Building real-time monitoring systems to identify anomalies, detect emerging trends, and proactively alert stakeholders to critical situations that require intervention

- Ensuring extremely high reliability, uptime, and performance across systems that receive and manage telemetry streams from thousands of endpoint

The systems we build serve a fundamental role in the successful functioning of the satellite constellation, and several supporting teams. They depend on us to have mission-critical reliability, uptime, and performance.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop software systems that meet the mission criteria and requirements.
- Collaborate with your fellow team members to form a strong foundation for a software organization in Project Kuiper.
- Help on-board new team members.
- Utilize AWS and other Amazon technologies to build high-available software services.

Export Control Requirement

About the team
The Atlas software engineering group is responsible for developing and maintaining the critical software infrastructure that enables multi-region telemetry data ingestion, health monitoring, and trend analysis across Amazon's Kuiper systems. As the core team building and managing these foundational data pipelines and analytics systems, the Atlas team bears significant ownership and responsibility to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability are met to satisfy business needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
