The Sr. Data Scientist, Kuiper Marketing, will bring a mixture of advanced data and statistical analysis, modeling, dashboarding, and ETL skills. The ideal candidate will use data-driven methods to answer business questions and play a key role in the development of marketing measurement models, employing experimentation and machine learning. The right person in this role will be able to deal with ambiguity and take the lead in defining frameworks where no prior examples exist. They will be an ambitious self-starter with the ability to operate independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done will be key to success in the role.
Responsibilities include:
- Own the roadmap and build of marketing measurement capabilities adapting Amazon and industry best practices to Kuiper needs.
- Apply causal inference and machine learning techniques to measure marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Extract data for analysis and model development from large datasets to address business questions.
- Create and maintain complex queries.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations that incorporate decision science to inform business decision-making.
- Collaborate effectively with business partners and team members to align marketing science efforts with strategic goals.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 4+ years of data scientist experience
- Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression
- Experience with design, develop and deploy large-scale machine learning models; Experience with optimization and personalization related problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing data pipelines
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
- 2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market.
