We are hiring a Controls Technician who will work closely with mechanical and controls engineering teams to implement industrial automation and control equipment for the success of Project Kuiper.

Key job responsibilities
- Control panel assembly and wiring
- Machine field wiring
- Panel bring-up and trouble-shooting
- Machine commissioning and trouble-shooting
- PLC program trouble-shooting
- Maintain Automation & Controls Workshop
- Support mechanical activities as required.

About the team
The Tooling Operations team is a diverse group of Technicians who provide mechanical support to Project Kuiper. Delivering creative and effective solutions in real time is our forte.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years working experience with installing, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial controls equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years experience with reading, interpreting, and executing electrical schematics and drawings
- 1+ years experience with general electrical safety practices such as lock-out / tag-out, PPE, etc. for system up to 480 VAC
- Valid Driver’s license and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria.
- Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or certificate in a related field
- 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment, using basic hand and power tools, including PCs, PLCs, IP networking, sensors, fieldbus, PID controllers, etc.
- Experience with motor wiring, commissioning, tuning, and troubleshooting including Variable Frequency Drives and Servo Control
- Experience in electrical control layout design and schematic
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, and UL508A
- Knowledge of industrial automation programming – ladder, structured text, HMI
- Cross-organizational communication – comfortable evangelizing ideas and concerns clearly and persuasively, in both verbal and written forms.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $126,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
