Amazon is looking for a Senior Trade Compliance Program Manager who will be responsible for managing and supporting the Prime Air Trade Compliance program. In this role, you will be responsible for working across a number of geographies to support the Prime Air business. You will work closely with other Trade Compliance professionals and the Prime Air business to drive export operations to ensure ongoing compliance, as well as a strategy for anticipating growth and strategic requirements globally. You will develop, implement, and communicate best practices and processes for ensuring export compliance across hardware, software, technology, services, and people, and will ensure rhythms of control to ensure timely and consistent review and timely approvals for compliance. You will act as a leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. You can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while working with multiple stakeholders to develop and scale the program in this region of the world. You will be able to help create solutions to meet your program goals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for export classification, international shipments, and software and technology exports and other strategic projects by working with internal business units and be an innovative compliance leader experienced in diving deep into complex problems and develop requirements for new compliance solutions. The candidate will leverage strong subject matter expertise, a passion for new challenges, be creative, self-directed and a great team player. Candidates should drive continuous process improvement, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and be comfortable working autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment. The position requires an individual with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.



Key job responsibilities
• Work with Amazon’s Global Trade Services (GTS) team to execute strategy, drive and enforce global import/export standards, processes, operations, and seek automation opportunities and leverage technologies
• Provide high judgment and subject matter expertise on US and non-U.S. export control regulations, particularly in the international shipping domain.
• Advise Prime Air on trade requirements across tangible and intangible exports
• Drive scalable business solutions with Prime Air stakeholders, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics/Transportation, Tax and other business teams to ensure compliance with Global Trade Regulations
• Build and manage an export compliance program, including managing deemed exports, technology control plans, export classifications and support import/customs compliance
• Develop and conduct international trade training at all levels of employment throughout the business
• Monitor regulatory changes related to import/export regulations
• Manage metrics for management reporting
• Create and implement control mechanisms to meet business goals and compliance requirements
• Own leadership communications to stakeholder teams

A day in the life
As a Senior Trade Compliance Program Manager, you will work with stakeholders across Prime Air including engineers, TPMs and other PMs to support their cross-border shipments and lead trade operations. In this role, the candidate will drive and scale the export compliance program through development of agile, effective, and efficient processes that enable compliance in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
