Amazon seeks a Senior Finance Analyst to join Amazon Device's OPD Headcount Team. OPD or Operations Product and Development is an inventive research and development group within Amazon Devices where we design and engineer high-profile consumer electronics. It began as Lab126 and was the creator of the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then the group has produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo.

The OPD headcount teams supports headcount and associated expense across the HW, Software, and Operations organizations. This role would partner closely with a broad range of finance and business leaders with designing, developing, and maintaining models and reports to continue driving efficiency and forecast accuracy.

This role will allow you to work independently, while also working closely with team and partners to provide the insights they need. The successful candidate will be an intellectually curious individual, highly analytical, and a demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial responsibilities and decision making in a rapidly evolving business. This role has regular interaction with leadership from various product lines and within OPD's leadership and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities
* Own reporting for month end, quarter end, and annual processes for employee expense and headcount activity. Work with a variety of data sources and ensure reporting accuracy.
* Provide transparency and insights on key financial metrics that impact headcount and employee expense. Create bridges to understand shifts in operational plans and guidance cycles. Add insight on underlying trends in ML/AI model.
* Program manage the OPD headcount team’s product development process by ensure teams deliver within SLA and working with business partners and validating estimates.
* Innovate on reporting to support OPD HC team’s product development process.
* Explore opportunities for automation within reporting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
