We are at the forefront of enterprise gamification. We own designing gamification experiences for our users such that those encourage engagement, but limit distraction. We also own the vision for a generalized gamification platform. Additionally, we focus on making associates happier and making their workplace an even more fun place to work at. Being able to understand and incorporate customer voice into the features we build is a core competency on this team. You will be part of a team of engineers who are passionate about increasing employee engagement - you will also collaborate with a Principal PM on defining the experience.
You will be part of a high performant team including multiple SDE-IIIs and SDE-IIs. You will be building large scale distributed cloud native services that are reliable, maintainable and scalable. You will get your hands dirty designing through a full stack of software. Associate Experience is at the top of AWS serverless tech, and you will be working on continually improving our architecture.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer, you will be part of a team building and maintaining systems that make a true real-world impact. Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering high quality code on time as part of a cross-functional team.
Contributing to team discussions around system component design, improvement and integration.
Designing and developing high performance, test-driven code.
Working with and maintaining a large existing code base as well as new components; maintaining production code and contributing to deployment and QA processes.

Workforce Optimization
AFT’s Workforce Optimization team delivers innovative platforms and products to automate labor management and staffing decisions across processes and functions at Amazon’s global fulfillment network locations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
