Key job responsibilities
As a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer, you will be responsible for designing and enhancing digital interfaces to improve user satisfaction and interaction. You will work closely with Amazon Customs and Trade product managers, program managers, developers, and stakeholder leadership to create functional designs for cross-platform applications which are aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-use intuitive experiences for our customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities include:
User Research and Analysis:
- Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, usability tests, and analytics tools.
- Analyze user data to derive insights and identify pain points.
- Create user personas and journey maps to understand user behavior and needs.
- Conduct UX workshop and apply proper UX methods to acquire in-depth knowledge into users and to drive cross functional alignment
Design and Prototyping:
- Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new features and products.
- Design intuitive and engaging user interfaces (UIs) that align with user needs and business goals.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback and usability testing.
- Leverage and improve design systems to create designs that are consistent and scalable
- Develop strategic concepts based on voice of customers and voice of stakeholders to inspire cross functional teams
- Create visionary designs that connect dots across multiple organizations and to ensure coherent design strategy for the business.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other designers.
- Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, incorporating feedback as needed.
- Ensure that design specifications are accurately implemented during the development process.
- Responsible for design planning and design operations for the business and championing on priorities based on value added to customers.
- Proactively communicate and identify collaboration opportunities with partner businesses to create flywheel.
Usability Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Plan and conduct usability tests to evaluate design effectiveness.
- Gather and analyze test results to refine and improve user interfaces.
- Ensure that final products meet high standards of usability and accessibility.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX/UI design.
- Advocate for user-centric design principles and practices within the organization.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing the user experience across all digital touchpoints.

Amazon Customs and Trade Program & Product team is designing and building the tools and features which transform the customer cross-border customs experience. We are taking a regulatory requirement from being a burden to being a process integrated into a customers' business processes--processing regulated requirements with predictability and ease while exposing benefits to the customer's business. We are taking the mystery and angst out of the process for our customers--importers and exporters globally and internal teams moving goods across borders and through government controls.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
