The Middle Mile Fleet Infrastructure team is looking for a Senior Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own and execute strategic, cross-functional operations and technology projects. This role requires scoping multiple large cross-functional projects, managing to project timelines, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process changes. This role will also be responsible for identification of potential in-yard infrastructure pilot projects and sites, development of design guidance and enabling documentation to gain stakeholder trust and buy-in, and guiding new design standards through the change management process.
This role will require exceptional written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment when clear guidelines may not exist, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment with all levels of leadership. Also, the role will require approximately 25% travel within the United States and Canada.

Key job responsibilities
- Coordinating with cross-functional project teams, planning and organizing, and executing complex projects across multiple organizations and stakeholders to enable the launch of new projects and processes
- Demonstrate performance that serves as a model of excellence establishing design best practices, business requirements, design team collaboration, and stakeholder alignment
- Review and guide internally requested changes for validity, impact, and ensure timely incorporation once approved
- Provide technical direction in accordance to established design parameters for multiple projects in various locations simultaneously
- Review of yard designs for conformance to current standard specifications
- Participate in or lead road-to-launch meetings to build positive, collaborative partnerships among subject matter experts (SMEs), team members, stakeholders and field leaders and associates to complete all required tasks to ensure successful new launches throughout the organization
- Write and review whitepapers for launches cases using information acquired from various stakeholders
- Manage the continuous development of online dashboards to record and report key construction metrics to team members and management
- Prepare team performance reports for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews that distill key metrics and provide insights into recommended strategies
- Manage full life-cycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations
- Communicate to Senior Management on status, risks, and process/product changes
- Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment
- Partner with teams to source, allocate, and coordinate resources
- Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes
- Identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks
- Work with program managers, business leaders and executive team to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
- Develop, implement and govern key performance indicator (KPI) reporting for a portfolio of programs
About the team
The Fleet Infrastructure team is responsible for accelerating Amazon's Middle Mile electrification and facilitating the successful transition of our delivery fleet to achieve net zero-emissions in support of The Climate Pledge. We define Electric Vehicle charging and infrastructure product needs, develop or source solutions to meet those needs, and manage the performance of our Electric Vehicle charging assets post-installation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 3+ years of working directly with engineering, preconstruction, and/or construction team experience
- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Relevant experience in building, developing and leading programs in a fast-paced and ambiguous work environment with multiple stakeholders (e.g. definition of accurate network expansion plans, vendors’ development, quality assurance, design and costs improvement, team and stakeholders engagement).
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating deployment schedules
- Experience with the EV charging industry and Smart Grid technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of working directly with engineering, preconstruction, and/or construction team experience
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements (KPI's/SLA's) used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
