The Strategic Sourcing team, a division of the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization, is responsible for ensuring access to supply for our Amazon.com customers. We do this for billions of inventory units across millions of products through supply chain systems and collaborative experiences used by the vendors that supply these items. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Tech (Sr. PMT) who is passionate about working backwards from our customers to measure and identify access to supply opportunities (to ensure we source inventory that meets our customer needs) and then build and execute a product roadmap to improve access to supply. The right person for this role is deeply analytical, has a good understanding of supply chain fundamentals (or can learn this quickly) and is passionate about customer experiences. The right person for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and highly visible problem spaces that require strong technical and business judgment and superior communication skills. They will have a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically to turn opportunities into successful product solutions. They are known for both bias for action, ability to earn trust and influence on partner teams.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will own all aspects (measurement, execution, product) of improving access to supply for Amazon.com and the associated technical and experience product roadmap to drive improvements. You will lead data deep dives with your BIE and science partners to identify new opportunities. You will also own the subsequent product roadmap, driving effective product discussions and defining clear product requirements. You will also manage all aspects of the business of the product along with metrics and reporting. You will manage the timelines for all associated software and services, supporting the launch of new releases and will communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks, etc. You will perform or commission market research, usability studies, and focus groups to continuously identify and solve user problems.

A day in the life
You will collaborate with partners (science, business intelligence, UX design, engineering) to define requirements and build your product, delivering value for our business. You will engage across orgs to align requirements and influence internal stakeholders. You will deep dive data to understand the behaviors, barriers and operational variances that impact supply chain operations for different vendor cohorts, or meet directly with vendor users to better understand how they operate. Written documents are how we communicate product ideas, requirements, status updates and topics for debate; you will regularly author or contribute to documents that support the lifecycle of your product.

About the team
The Strategic Sourcing team builds and owns systems and vendor experiences designed to: 1) improve access to supply, 2) reduce end to end costs in inbound supply chain and 3) improve vendor performance. We determine when and if we should source a product, from which vendor, at what cost and how it should be shipped to Amazon. These systems ensure Amazon’s inventory needs are met on time and in the most efficient way.
