- Manage and monitor the safety start-up plan for all new sites
- Ensure Amazon buildings are designed and built compliant to regulatory and Amazon standards
- Conduct design composite reviews for compliance with Amazon standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct site safety, health and environmental commissioning inspections.
- Create and maintain punch lists with relevant teams.
- Identify the required safety supplies for new site start-up. Assist in the procurement of the safety items. Set-up all site safety supplies onsite as needed
- Perform regular analysis and risk assessment of new build processes and equipment for site safety improvements and continuous standards improvement
- Develop safety commissioning lists with relevant teams
- Set-up new site in all appropriate safety databases
- Inspect and certify PIT equipment meets Amazon requirements
- Schedule applicable Safety training for site Safety team and managers with a local trainer
- Develop a positive working relationship with stakeholders involved throughout the project
- Project Work for topics relating to the network
- Maintain communication with Operational Directors and General Managers
- Lead and influence cross functional teams as required to deliver safety centered processes and building designs
- Review operations and determine the required site safety signage

Key job responsibilities
Job requires up to 75% travel to new launch sites during Construction phase through post launch visits. This role requires strong communication skills with stakeholders and senior leaders, written and verbal communication skills, self-motivation and strong organizational skills. This role requires tracking metrics to meet standard KPI's, delivering on self-obtained projects to improve design and reduce risk, and ability to work with 3P's as well as Operational teams.
The New Construction & Launch WHS PM must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Design, Engineering, Construction, Startup, Launch and New Site WHS teams. This individual must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. They will be required to possess excellent safety and relevant environmental and ergonomic knowledge and to demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations and Engineering teams.
About the team
Role consists of building template review/design to ensure it meets regulatory requirements, all safety requirements, aligns with current Amazon Policies and Procedures, and Federal/State/Local jurisdiction requirements. The Program Manager will also be responsible for traveling to the site during construction to perform commissioning of equipment/building/modules/safety supplies. Post launch lessons learned, design changes, and module updates/changes will be documented and actioned. Collaboration with stakeholders to align on changes/improvements of design including risk assessments and risk reduction.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Related field, Construction Safety or Engineering
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
