The Global Transportation Services team (GTS) at Amazon is comprised of high-powered dynamic teams which are shaping network execution through the development and application of innovative transportation and delivery management concepts.

The Program Manager II role within GTS is looking for a PM to lead what if scenario analysis for driving network changes. The role will partner with SCOT-FO function to understand capabilities of simulation platform and be an evangelist for the same within TESS and the larger TESS organization. This position will also partner closely with the BIE leads in TESS and help build an outlook on key deliverables of the analytics organization and roadmap. The PM will partner with the BIE leads and PMs/leads in TESS to drive trade off discussions and reprioritization of topics making sure that the org is looking at effective prioritization.

Key job responsibilities
- Define the program (mission, vision, tenets), set objectives, analyze data and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics
- Identify the gaps and pain points in the existing tools/solutions/processes and come up with solutions both for short and long term
- Write reports/documents that detail the progress to leadership on a frequent basis
- Operate autonomously and handle escalations.
- Collaborate with other Program/Product Managers and Analysts to continuously improve analytics ability to support products/programs run by TESS
- Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
- Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers
- Identify, analyze, and maintain key metrics, with trend and variance analyses to discern root cause of defects

A day in the life
* Drive simulations for understanding what-if scenarios with different cost parameters
* Follow up with Business Intelligence Engineer leads to understand the roadmap and partner closely with PMs to ensure aligned prioritization
* Contribute to key reviews and publish analytics deliverables and roadmap
* Partner closely with FO to understand development on simulation systems and provide feedback for capabilities needed

About the team
Amazon’s Transportation Engineering Systems Team owns the configuration of each setting in Amazon’s resource planning systems. These settings are used to provide the committed delivery date on the website “order in the next 3 hour and get it tomorrow”, and then used to plan and route every order such that we meet the commitment to our customers. Every week 1000s of changes are made as we seek to grow the business and optimize our resources.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
