The Amazon Freight Less Than Truckload (AF LTL) team is looking for an experienced leader to own Network Design and position the AF LTL Network for current and future initiatives.

Network Design sets the medium and long-term strategy for AF LTL and will ensure that AF LTL develops the optimal network to service our customers with a high quality and low cost LTL product. This role will be responsible for a variety of strategic projects including transitioning our network from outsourced to in-sourced operations, developing custom network solutions for new customer types, and evolving AF LTL's network topology strategy.

Key job responsibilities
- Create and deliver long-term (LTP) and medium-term planning (MTP) documents for AF LTL
- Advise VP Level Leadership on Strategic Decision Making
- Collaborate with Senior Manager and Director level leaders across the organization and influence medium/long-term decisions across business units to yield the best outcomes for customers
- Lead ad hoc strategic projects including but not limited to evaluations of strategic partnership opportunities and business cases for new technologies

A day in the life
As the leader for AF LTL Network Design, you will be building the medium and long-term terminal expansion strategy for the US AF LTL program. You will work cross functionally within the AF Biz-Ops team as well as other internal teams (e.g. AMXL, Sort Centers) to balance cost/speed/quality tradeoffs, while developing the network for future expansion and opportunities. You will be the subject matter expert on terminal capacity modelling and network connectivity, as well as be a key partner to Finance on terminal ROI modelling.

In this role, the Principal Supply Chain Manager will be on the Amazon Freight Less-Than-Truckload (AF LTL) Operations team. AF LTL is a rapidly growing transportation start-up within Amazon. Our vision is to build a profitable, commercial LTL service that drives the Amazon flywheel and delights shippers with the most reliable, convenient, transparent and competitively priced service in the industry.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working cross functionally across several teams experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 7+ years of supply chain experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
- Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level
- Experience in Network Design or comparable strategic function

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market.
