The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) Finance team is seeking a Principal Finance Manager (FM) to support the USA Automated Inventory Management team, partnering closely with Director AIM. This role will support the business organization responsible for automating the inventory management function, taking over responsibility for planning and insights on inventory outputs, reporting and analytics for leadership and driving key performance indicators used across Amazon to manage inventory and delight customers. This is an opportunity to establish and improve the metrics, mechanisms, driving automation, controllership and operating parameters that effectively monitor, report and manage Amazon’s worldwide inventory position including representing executive reviews. This role will involve interacting with senior leaders across the company and act as a trusted partner in defining and building the next big advancement in automated inventory management capabilities at Amazon and support leadership decision making. This role requires excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to senior leadership.

Key job responsibilities
- Identifying and structuring financial support for the WW Retail Inventory Management function.
- Controllership over the tools and systems created by the inventory team
- Ownership and develop financial insights and narratives during all planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles that are reviewed by Amazon executive leadership
- Manage and develop the financial planning and analysis processes, including long range planning, and operational planning processes
- Drive modeling on financial trade-offs and implications of key inventory management projects and drive teams for driving inventory efficiency
- Create framework for applying appropriate financial controls at scale to inventory management systems
- Drive continuous improvement, automation and standardization of financial reporting processes
- Influence others, insist on the highest standards, have bias for action and challenge the status quo
- Partner with AIM team to drive the prioritization of the roadmaps to drive efficiency and Assess impact of new business ideas and initiatives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)
- 10+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 8+ years of finance experience
- 5+ years of direct management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience
- Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
