In this role, you will influence our business strategy geared towards long term capacity & topology planning, and work across geographies, spanning multiple business lines. You’ll act as mini-CFO with regular senior management exposure, to keep the business accountable for designing the right long-term solution, with independence and discernment. As an individual contributor, you will be part of a highly motivated finance and business team, moving fast to create and implement new solutions. Business partnering is an integral part of your role, with strong components of new product development focused on improving decision and execution, financial planning and management, and controllership mechanisms; all of which are aimed at optimizing long-term free cash flow.
Key job responsibilities
- Co-lead multi-billion one-way door investment decisions, geared towards improving speed & reducing Cost To Serve (CTS) for Amazon's Global Supply Chain (US, CA, UK, EU4, JP, IN).
- Have a very high degree of ambiguity and complexity
- Collaborate with Science, SDE and PM, to innovate optimization strategies for a portfolio of products owned by Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT), to maximize long-term free cash flow/ profitability.
- Audit the inputs and trade-offs of existing and future systems; ensure appropriate financial controllership of our ever-evolving fulfillment systems, and our strategic initiatives are tied to key financial metrics.
- Evaluate financial risk and opportunities associated with investment trade-off. Support quarterly Strategic Sales & Operations Planning (SSOP) reviews, and build narratives for CEO/ SVP with significant senior management exposure.
- Audit & standardize model inputs WW, and own financial controllership to ensure that our models represent true economical value of our investment decisions.
- Build knowledge and trust across all business areas and stay current on initiatives, risks, issues and opportunities, including network level assessments that go beyond a single asset class.
A day in the life
In this role, from Day 1, you will be given controllership of large products; the autonomy to think strategically and make data driven decisions; and the ability to drive significant impact on Amazon's fulfillment capacity at a global scale.
You will interface with a broad spectrum of business & finance teams spanning multiple business lines, including Supply Chain Execution, Forecasting, Inventory Prediction & Estimation (IPE), Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), Operations Finance, FP&A and country-specific Finance & Supply Chain and Execution teams.
You will act as finance controller for our state-of-the art inventory, capacity & topology planning products, and will also provide successfully engage with the business/ leadership in shaping key investment decisions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
