The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Team is responsible for the acquisition, design, construction, and management of all facilities in the Amazon Delivery Station Network. We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our North America AMZL Design Engineering Team to support the expansion of AMZL’s Delivery Station Network in North America.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the delivery station network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.
• Ability to travel 25% globally to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations
- 5+ years Experience with automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
- 5+ years Experience with process design based on Lean Principles.
- 5+ years Experience in Capital project management
- 5+ years Experience with concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making.
- 5+ years Experience with ownership/management of engineering design projects
- 5+ years Experience using business/technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics (or equivalent related experience)
- Experience in Operations experience
- Experience in Logistics or Production business
- Experience in innovation/Research & Development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $126,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
