The World Wide OPS Finance S&A (Standardize & Automate) team is looking for a customer focused, analytically and technically skilled Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join the team.

The role will require an end-to-end understanding of data and reporting; this role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as outstanding business acumen.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and enjoying working with large data sets. The successful candidate will be also an expert on creating advanced dashboards, connecting data sources through APIs, outstanding SQL skills and also passionate about presenting data in a very nice and easy-to-digest way.


Key job responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
- Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools.
- Combine knowledge of statistical methodology and analysis with programming skills to support complex analyses.
- Collaborate on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery/presentation of forecasting models, metrics, reports, analyses, tools, and dashboards.
- Respond to a variety of on-demand ad-hoc analytical requests as needed.
- Implement training and documentation solutions that enable business stakeholders to get the most out of our self-serve reporting tools.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience in the data/BI space
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
