The Amazon Global Mile Cross Border Fulfillment (XBF) team promotes businesses and software solutions to empower third-party sellers to reach customers around the globe.

The XBF team develops software that allows sellers to expand their business internationally by increasing the selection of products available in different countries. Through exports and supply chain optimizations, this platform plays a vital role in facilitating the growth of third-party businesses, providing new opportunities for sellers to introduce their products to a global customer base. We need your assistance in building highly-available, scalable distributed systems that create seamless interfaces between sellers, customers, and Amazon's software, thus growing our business.

Key job responsibilities
As an SDE-II on our team, you will collaborate with senior engineers to clarify business requirements and design architectures that meet those needs. Furthermore, you will progress in your career by leading and implementing innovative designs alongside senior engineers, cross-functional teams, and product managers, ensuring the development of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Key responsiblities will include:

- Collaborating with product and program managers, software development engineers at all levels, and various functional teams within Amazon (such as Offer Management, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Optimization, etc.) to untangle complex business scenarios.
- Crafting and executing highly scalable architectures and system components capable of handling the demands of high-volume business programs processing billions of transactions daily.
- Mentoring and coaching junior engineering team members within our team and across the organization to uphold engineering excellence.
- Ensuring the seamless operation of the system day-to-day and contributing to reducing operational overhead.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
