NA Ops Sustainability Strategy & Execution (SSE) is looking for an experienced, driven, analytical, and creative Senior Program Manager, Middle Mile Sustainability to support Amazon Transportation Service’s carbon reduction goals. An ideal candidate will: 1) serve as a liaison between sustainability and business teams within Middle Mile, 2) drive the overarching sustainability strategy, and 3) track carbon abatement and carbon intensity. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in, and get the job done. You will be able to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, and then deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

The Senior Program Manager, Middle Mile Sustainability will need an individual with experience delivering results while balancing customer needs, data analysis, project and stakeholder management, and internal/external communications.


Key job responsibilities
This role is inherently cross-functional—you will work closely with WW Sustainability, WW Ops Sustainability, Core Operations, Legal, Finance, Network planning, and executive teams. This job will require exceptional communication skills and having the ability to work independently in a high pressure environment with all levels of leadership, and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist. The successful candidate will be proficient at solving transportation challenges and possess a bias to get things done and deliver results. Other responsibilities include:

• Develop core program management documentation
• Address barriers through problem solving and coordination with stakeholders
• Influence strategic roadmaps for the network

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience in sustainability, carbon reporting, and/or transportation
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments and overcome challenges with a high degree of flexibility and professionalism

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
