The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Applied Science Manager with a strong deep learning background, to lead the development of industry-leading technology with multimodal systems.

Key job responsibilities
As an Applied Science Manager with the AGI team, you will lead the development of novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state of the art with multimodal systems. Your work will directly impact our customers in the form of products and services that make use of vision and language technology. You will leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate development with multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Computer Vision.

About the team
The AGI team has a mission to push the envelope with multimodal LLMs and GenAI in Computer Vision, in order to provide the best-possible experience for our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
- PhD, or Master's degree and 5+ years of applied research experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field
- Experience leading scientist teams
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Experience with popular deep learning frameworks, including PyTorch
- Experience with learning multimodal LLMs and Gen AI in Computer Vision, both in the image and video domains

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $286,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
