The AWS Data Center Design Engineering team is looking for a senior HVMV manager to join our highly collaborative leadership team, responsible for all data center (DC) projects across AWS regions within North and South America. As a Senior DC Infrastructure manager you will lead a HVMV team comprised of experienced builders that have detailed knowledge of global infrastructure, know how different solutions scale and can influence future priorities. The team will apply their knowledge to implement new solutions that are complaint in a variety of regulatory conditions, ensure engineering quality assurance across the project portfolio and mentor engineers on new innovations across the organization. The Senior HVMV manager and team will collaborate with other builders from across the global to support knowledge sharing and focus on global consistency. The team will develop designs for substations, collaborate with partner teams to align on scope of deliverables, meet with utility partners to ensure design alignment.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of HV/MV engineers in the design of substations.
- Facilitating meetings with staff, resource planning, evaluating external consultants, addressing design issues and be responsible for the quality of HV/MV engineering designs.
- Drive process improvements within your team.
- Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.
- Work with internal teams to understand user requirements.
- Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.
- Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.
- Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite engineers and consultants, as well as provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startup as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Cumulative 10+ years of experience with mission critical facilities.
- Cumulative 5+ years experience in managing team of 20 people or greater.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional Engineering License or Master Degree in Engineering
- Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of data centers.
- Cumulative 3+ years managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $160,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $278,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
