Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. By applying to this position your application will be considered for all locations we hire for in the United States. This includes, but is not limited to: VA (Manassas, Herndon, Chantilly, Auburn), OR (Boardman, Umatilla, Hermiston), OH (Columbus), CA (Santa Clara), given availability. This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location.




Key job responsibilities
- Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required
- Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
- Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
- Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues
- Helping to train and onboard new team members

A day in the life
As a Data Center Technician professional, you have industry-leading technical abilities and
demonstrate a breadth of knowledge while you:
- Take ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution
- Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context
- Maintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
You will be required to work shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays.
Traveling within and outside of regional work area is required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- • 12+ months of relevant experience in data center operations, IT support, or a similar technical field
- • 12+ months of troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve undefined technical problems
- • Willingness to participate in a primary responder rotation and support 24/7 data center operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- • An Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, networking engineering, etc.)
- • Experience working in a Data Center environment
- • Understanding of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
- • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- • Understanding of in-depth hardware knowledge (e.g., PCIe)
