As part of the Undiscovered and Small Business Accelerator (USBA), Amazon has committed $150 million to empower Black entrepreneurs through the Black Business Accelerator (BBA), which provides access to educational, financial and advisory resources that support Black-owned business owners to succeed as sellers in Amazon’s store. We are seeking an experienced visual designer & brand strategist to join our USBA Integrated Marketing and Communications team and lead our creative strategy. In this role you will develop the visual design around USBA/BBA, driving consistency of the brand image by establishing consistent branding across teams, while designing creative assets, which will include visual aids, advertising layouts, social media graphics, case studies and the editing of a variety of video content pieces. In this role you will work closely with USBA cross functional stakeholders in addition to working with creative teams across the broader NA3P organization.

You readily dive deep to understand the objectives of your business partners and the mind-set of the end customer, our selling partners. You think spatially, understanding how a brand is consistently expressed and maintained in physical and digital environments. You have experience working on seasonal campaigns and product launches. You are an excellent presenter who thinks through each presentation strategically and with a sense of story-telling. You thrive with ambiguity, bringing order and clarity in your ability to synthesize design solutions while factoring in the implications of growing & scaling a brand. You are full of initiative, regularly pushing your comfort zone, and love to collaborate across teams and have a proven track record of bringing great ideas to life.

In this role, the candidate will work with the USBA Integrated Marketing and Communications Leader to define and roll out a USBA/BBA Brand Identity. You must have the ability to work on tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously. The role requires the person to manage and influence, needing to be completely hands-on when required. Candidates who think on their feet, delight in innovative yet effective solutions should apply.

Success in this role requires having a passion for Small Businesses, strong design experience as well as a strong backbone, great communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to deal with a significant amount of ambiguity while building.


Key job responsibilities
• 5+ years of design experience
• Development and execution of selling partner Influencer & Digital Marketing Strategy
• Manage a wide range of stakeholders—both internally and externally
• Facilitate the advancement of internal processes and infrastructure to make Influencer & Digital Marketing core for the USBA organization
• Drive the best-in-class measurement and analytics of influencer & digital marketing
• Oversee a team of digital marketing and Influencer Campaigns PMs
• Provide strategic counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts crossing a number of disciplines within the USBA organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience managing teams
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- 6+ years of design experience
- Portfolio demonstrating understanding and development of brand guidelines
- Portfolio demonstrating brand campaigns that scale across multiple channels and touch points
- Strong grasp of the creative process; from ideation through implementation
- Strong understanding of typography, design principles, color, trends and best practices across digital, social, print
- Understanding of production best practices for print and digital mediums
- Familiarity with brand strategy and working from briefs
- Exceptional attention to detail with relentlessly high-quality standards
- Ability to share ideas and receive feedback from business partners and stakeholder through presentations and writing
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Figma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with motion design and video editing is a bonus
- A passion for small businesses and product marketing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
