As a member of the BXT Support Tools and Automation (STA) team, you will work to build tools to help improve our benefits administration process that will look to make the benefits experience more seamless for Amazonians.
Support Engineer 4 in the BXT STA team will be the technical leader of the team, which acts as the first line of engineering support team. The Support Engineer 4 will partner with product support leads and software engineering teams owning business critical services to own issues to resolution on behalf of the Amazonians, including coordination, customer communication, and tracking tasks to complete resolution. Support Engineer 4 will lead development of processes and mechanisms in support of incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting tasks, with responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services driving employee benefits experience. A successful Support Engineer 4 will have broad array of technical and functional skills, take initiative to identify areas of improvement, implement best practices in providing technical support, and think big to proactively mitigate issues using innovative solutions. As a Support Engineer 4 you will have opportunity to partner with senior engineers and lead other support engineers in a multi functional team and advance your career to next level and ownership of critical software systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of software development, or 3+ years of technical support experience
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience troubleshooting and documenting findings
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of AWS based technologies
- Demonstrable understanding of web services, data systems, technical workflows, and software development lifecycle
- Experience with log aggregation tools for troubleshooting enterprise-level cloud applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of software development, or 4+ years of technical support experience
- Knowledge of distributed applications/enterprise applications
- Experience using AWS tools, including AWS CloudWatch, AWS S3, AWS DynamoDB, and AWS Lambda
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications (whether internal or external facing)
- 2+ years of experience writing SQL queries, scripts in programming languages such as Java, Python, etc.
