Amazon’s Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team is looking for an innovative, results-orientated Senior Program Manager based in Arlington, VA (US) or London (UK) to envision, build and deliver a Global Engineering program that optimizes Amazon’s corporate portfolio.

The Senior Program Manager Engineering is responsible for leading and optimizing the day-to-day operations of critical engineering systems and infrastructure across Amazon’s corporate real estate portfolio. This senior-level role requires a deep understanding of technical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operations. The role will be a key contributor to the continuous improvement of operational processes and the implementation of innovative solutions.

The successful candidate is an experienced, vibrant, and engaging professional who will excel within an entrepreneurial culture – providing vision, leadership, and communication – not afraid to dive deep into details. They should also understand the nuance of being approachable, while at the same time consultative – providing direction/recommendations to our regional teams and fostering transparent relationships. The candidate must be able to balance frugality with creativity in offering solutions and approach problem-solving with an emphasis on root cause.

This role requires global travel approximately 10% of the time.


Key job responsibilities
• Lead the strategic development of the Global Engineering program including but not limited to: (1) identify and oversee program deliverables; (2) align the program to GREF’s 3YR plan; (3) deliver an annual roadmap and set strategic SMART goals; and (4) conceive and implement a technology roadmap.
• Identify, implement and report on continuous improvement program initiatives, leveraging operational data, customer insights and deep dives to drive change.
• Establish performance-focused guidelines, energy audits, Landlord integration, performance-focused vendor KPIs, continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
• Work cross functionally with global and regional peers to improve the quality of Amazon workspace with a focus on resiliency, efficiency, health, and safety.
• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and optimal functioning of assets.
• Collaborate with Landlords, GREF Tech, IT, and other stakeholders to design, pilot and deploy new systems, technologies, and process improvements with focus on optimization.
• Contribute to business continuity planning and climate risk assessments; support operational plans for emergency preparedness.
• Develop and deliver technical training programs for Regional Portfolio Management teams.
• Routinely connect to external industry, professional bodies and communities, assessing new industry standards, current/future technology and innovations are adopted into the program.

A day in the life
You will collaborate with Sustainability, Environmental Health & Safety and Design and Construction to integrate Engineering optimization and concepts into workplace design and through retrospective projects and initiatives. You will guide Regional Portfolio Management (RPM) teams through the implementation of key Engineering programs. You will use operational and customer insights plus industry benchmarks to develop future Engineering program strategy. You operate as a true partner fostering highly integrated relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You are comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level, simultaneously delivering multiple projects or initiatives and managing through ambiguity. You have a proven track-record, expertise, and passion for engineering.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- 7+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
