The Principal for Connectivity Policy, Americas will advocate on connectivity-related public policy issues, including those that relate to Project Kuiper, with governments in the Americas to support our business, customers, and employees in Canada and Latin America.

The Principal will work closely with other public policy teams, Legal, PR and the relevant business units to ensure alignment with business priorities and goals, and will be responsible for effectively educating policymakers on these issues. The Principal will also be responsible for leading engagements with trade associations, think tanks, advocacy groups, and other relevant external stakeholders.

The Principal will monitor and report relevant legislative and policy activity on connectivity issues in Canada and Latin America, develop positioning and mitigation/engagement strategies, and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives. As appropriate, the Principal will facilitate high-level meetings for executives and business leaders with key policymakers and other relevant stakeholders in the state.

This position will be based in Arlington, Virginia. The Senior Manager will be willing to travel domestically and internationally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- BS/BA required.
- At least 12 years of relevant public policy experience and a keen working understanding of connectivity issues and government relations in the Americas.
- The ability to effectively communicate and advocate in Spanish and English, in writing and orally.
- An ability and desire to travel is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- JD or Advanced Degree preferred.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in government or representing a large, complex company or association.
- Demonstrated ability to be both a substantive issue expert and a manager of complex political relationships.
- Experience working with public policy stakeholders and experience managing multiple policy issues.
- Demonstrated ability to understand how technical language in legislative and regulatory proposals could affect corporate operations, identify business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal customers.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others is required. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen.
- Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate and political levels.
- A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.
- Ability to deliver in ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity, with strongest professional reputation in the industry.
