This role reports to the Senior Asset & Retail Manager within the GREF Finance Team. The role focuses on creating a vibrant atmosphere through community engagement, identifying and cultivating partnerships with local non-profit organizations, building and supporting community events, and the development of promotional materials. In addition, the role is responsible for defining and executing placemaking initiatives, building and managing retail partnerships, providing support to local, small businesses in assigned neighborhoods, and reporting and analytics to measure pre-defined success metrics.
The successful candidate will have deep experience in the community engagement space, with a propensity for establishing and maintaining strong community and retailer relationships, as well as the ability to define marketing strategies based on target populations and cultural goals. In addition, the candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to function independently at a high level.
Occasional domestic travel may be required, as needed for site visits.
Key job responsibilities
• Serve as a primary contact to community partners and retailers.
• Facilitate alignment between internal (GREF, Amazon) and external (non-profits, retailers, small business owners, etc.) stakeholders.
• Develop program KPIs and maintain vendor partner accountability, lead process improvement objectives, and implement best practices and tools to measure performance.
• Development and ownership of the Community Activation budget, which requires partnership with multiple stakeholders (Public Policy, Property Management, etc.).
• Drive the creation of protocols required for new and existing businesses with whom GREF partners on community events, sponsorships, etc.
• Ensure adequate onboarding of new partners to ensure consistency in terms of expectations and relationship management.
• Work with cross functional stakeholders including Property Management, Legal, EHS, ACS, PR, Public Policy to ensure compliance with Amazon and site-specific policies.
• Work in a matrix reporting structure, encompassing both dotted and hard reporting lines.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 8+ years of marketing and communications experience required
• 5+ years of experience in community and retail marketing, including event planning and development of placemaking initiatives
• 3+ years of experience successfully building and managing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, who sometimes have competing priorities
• Proven ability to analyze, inform and manage complex problems and solutions related to placemaking and community events
• Proven ability to build relationships with community groups (e.g., Business Improvement Districts, Downtown Associations, County Municipalities, etc.)
• Proficiency in running multi-faceted marketing campaigns (e.g., social media, print, earned media, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree in related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence vs. direct management
• Understanding of design and construction, and development of urban neighborhoods
• Demonstrate confidence with legal terms and structures applicable to standard commercial contracts
• Experience and competence utilizing commercial real estate software and tools
• A track record of championing speed, flexibility and frugality in the face of rapid change and significant workload
• Ability to think strategically, while also successfully executing tactically

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
