In this role, you will coordinate the reporting and compliance processes for Amazon’s Foreign Reporting and Compliance Team. You will develop and maintain the central library of tax positions, the process of delivering the tax positions to Amazon’s foreign provisions and tax returns, and enhance that process through technological innovation. To ensure Amazon is being consistent with its reporting positions, and that those positions are properly analyzed and documented, the Foreign Team requires a Tax Manager to coordinate with all the global owners.


Key job responsibilities
- Analyze existing reporting positions to ensure consistency across each geography.
- Liaise with all foreign owners affected by a particular issue and document the base facts of the issue, along with local country nuances.
- Document the analysis of the facts and the reporting position and ensure Amazon is taking no undue risk from inconsistent reporting positions.
- Liaise with other stakeholder groups across Tax and Finance to discover new issues with a global reach and perform the above listed activities for those issues.
- Coordinate with US Federal and US Outbound groups to ensure all foreign reporting positions are aligned with the priorities of those groups. Any divergences should be documented and signed off by appropriate team leads.
- Communicate status updates and emerging issues within Tax Leadership.
- Develop and Maintain a primary global tax reporting position matrix and ensure reporting positions are properly disclosed in financial statements and tax returns.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other database language
- Knowledge of accounting principles, processes, and entries
- Experience working in IFRS, US GAAP, Foreign Local Tax, and/or US Tax.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $172,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
