AGL FP&A is responsible for fulfillment operations spend across Amazon Fresh (FCs & Stores), Whole Foods Market, and Grocery Partnerships. Our Finance teams partner closely with our operations teams to influence the strategic direction of the business, drive operations excellence, and make sound investment and expansion decisions, with the primary goal of continuously improving the customer experience while driving long-term profitability for our portfolio of businesses. Our teams experiment, fail fast, learn, and scale rapidly, while maintaining a data-driven decision-making culture.
We are looking for a highly effective Finance Manager to be a key member of the Grocery Operations Finance Team. The team is responsible for critical network-wide reporting, support ad hoc financial analysis, and business planning. You will develop models and metrics packages, and partner with our BI teams to streamline automate reporting and implement process improvements.
This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders across retail and operations teams in order to design, develop, and maintain performance measurements and reports on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business.
The successful candidate will influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon. They bring excellent verbal and written communication skills. They prioritize the most impactful projects and programs that will drive Amazon Grocery forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to innovate by building creative solutions with large-scale data mining tools, identifying the high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that effect company-wide strategic decisions.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the key FP&A partner working directly with Grocery Operations finance and business teams to provide financial information and support
- Own the consolidation, analyses, and reporting on all of US Grocery Operations
- Develop high quality, data-driven financial analyses that drive business insights and support informed decision-making by company executives
- Partner with stakeholders including Operations, Accounting, and Finance Technology to identify opportunities and business requirements for financial systems, process improvement, and technology innovation/automation
- Lead analytical support for ad-hoc/cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives
- Lead in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reviews
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 7+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
