We are looking for a talented litigator with an eye for expanding their skillset by supporting our innovative and evolving transportation and logistics businesses.
This attorney will:
• Be an integral part of the business and technology teams they support, and will drive strategy for risk mitigation for our Amazon Relay and other middle mile transportation businesses.
• Architect and implement Amazon’s litigation strategy with respect to certain portions of our commercial litigation portfolio.
• Dive deep into the most challenging cases in the middle mile litigation portfolio, and support driving the right outcome
• Think Big and look around corners to spot issues and identify developments of relevance for the Amazon business.
• Build processes that address risk and provide us with the flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
• Partner with business leaders on strategy and long-term success, earning trust and building relationships.
We are looking for candidates who are innovative, progressive, extremely hands-on, and highly customer-obsessed professionals. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business.
Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience litigating, managing, and coordinating auto or personal injury liability cases
- Experience working cross functionally with Risk Management personnel, third party administrators, and insurance companies
- Ability to lead teams, including cross-functional teams, while being a strong partner to other lawyers, business clients, paralegals, and assistants
- Curiosity and creativity
- Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
