In this role, you will be responsible for editing and ensuring the quality of global benefits content across major channels that span multiple teams at Amazon. You will manage the lifecycle of important employee benefits content. Working alongside product designers, researchers, and benefits managers, you will craft intuitive, user-focused content that helps employees navigate the product, understand their available options, take necessary actions, and resolve issues. You will develop and maintain comprehensive style guides, ensuring a seamless and consistent experience end-to-end.

The ideal candidate has exceptional editing skills with a keen eye for detail, consistency, and clarity across a diverse customer user base. You have exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and technical aptitude. Proficiency in one or more content management systems and content structures, with a desire to continuously learn and grow, is essential. With comfort working amidst inherently ambiguous situations, you have an adaptability to adjust an editing approach for different content styles, channels, goals, or customer.

Key job responsibilities
- Perform all levels of content editing including structural editing, copyediting, and proofreading while adapting to appropriate styles for each content type and channel
- Respond to customer requests to create and update content in our content management system in line with process and policy changes within defined contact SLAs and delivery timelines.
- Reviewing and editing written content, such as articles, policies, assets, or content fragments for grammar and spelling, accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Identify opportunities to reuse content and reduce manual effort required to maintain duplicate information in multiple places.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive copywriting guidelines and style guides
- Apply principles of minimalism to provide customers with the right information at the right time without overwhelming them
- Inform content strategy to enhance the customer experience based on research, content gaps, and existing content performance
- Audit existing content and analyze data to maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all content
- Establish and maintain a tone of voice aligned with the Amazon brand, tailored to employees
- Communicate editorial decisions clearly to leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven skill in content editing/writing with 3+ years of experience
- Previous experience authoring, editing, and publishing headless content in a content management system
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage meetings and drive discussions effectively
- Excellent collaboration, prioritization, and mentoring skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous experience researching complex topics or audience needs
- Experience writing AI prompts and editing AI produced content
- Comfortable working in a goal-oriented, deadline-driven environment
- Able to produce educational solutions to address known pain paints
- Bonus: Fluency in additional languages
- Bonus: Writing experience in the US healthcare or employee benefits sectors
