This role is responsible for overseeing the programmatic health, and maintenance of production systems for Event Production Venues, leading the engineering team on delivering on annual goals and operational projects, as well as supporting the deployment and delivery of live event production sites across AMER. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside company leadership, supporting high-impact events through system engineering operations and deployments throughout AMER.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead System Engineering programmatic scrum meetings for project burndown
Ensure the maintained health and success of all production equipment in AMER venues
• Seek end-user feedback to ensure workflow and function of production equipment and software ensures team success within these production environments
• Lead system engineering program to continually improve and retrofit live production systems that enable high-quality, efficient operations and meet high customer demand
• Scale designs in partnership with cross-functional teams
• Receive commissioned systems for upcoming deployments
• Read and annotate architectural and construction drawings
• Right-size and maintain the venue vision throughout system engineering projects
• Receive commissioning from User Acceptance Testing through venue launch
• Track, maintain, and communicate against systems engineering project delivery timelines
• Maintain and update project system documentation
• Create project standards documentation, including operational SOPs, functional drawing sets, project configuration and code files
• Conduct research, develop test plans, and evaluate emerging technologies in the broadcast space
• Proactively engage with operational teams to pursue process improvements
• Follow and implement system engineering team standard operating procedures
• Participate in new hire onboarding and development plans
• Review programmatic team-related data and metrics
• Improve communication across teams and services
• Participate in System Engineering project planning for venue productions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with partner groups and stakeholders
• Ensure industry best practices are followed with a safety-first mindset

• Deep systems knowledge of live and studio production engineering

The Venue Systems Admin Engineer will give clear direction through communications to team members on-site and in remote locations, effectively lead meetings driving progress for intended results, and supports overall Event Productions to meet organizational goals and serve customers at a bar raising quality.
About the team
Event Productions Large Production Venue team of engineers and system engineers work daily with the installed production equipment, helping to plan and execute each event within the space for internal Amazon customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, IT, computer science, or equivalent
5+ years of influencing and motivating a team of technical professionals across multiple locations to achieve goals
5+ years with video over IP technologies including SMPTE 2110, PTP, and NMOS
5+ years of networking (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP)
8+ years in event production / broadcast television / entertainment / theatre production environment
Ability to develop team members to troubleshoot audio/video signals in traditional SDI and IP ST 2110 environments
Demonstrated ability to manage complex calendaring systems, inventory databases, including related metrics
Demonstrated experience with system engineering management and familiarity with industry best practices and emerging technologies
Understanding of venue and studio technologies such as video walls, cameras, VR, and lighting
Ability to adjust work schedule to business needs, including occasional travel up to 40%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 2 - 4 year degree in A/V, technical theatre or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of Paradigm systems.
* Knowledge of Ross Video Systems
* Knowledge of Vectorworks or similar design software
