The AWS Government Regions Go To Market (GTM) team is looking for an experienced Sr. Business Development Manager to join our fast-paced organization supporting the U.S. Dept of Defense (DoD) classified mission programs and IT workloads. The AWS Sr. Business Development Manager will identify strategic business trends, industry challenges, and compliance requirements for classified program data and applications to develop business strategy and new transformational solutions to help customers accelerate cloud adoption and success. The Sr. Business Development Manager will leverage their knowledge, experience and professional relationships in industry and classified programs and processes to promote the adoption of the AWS Secret region.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of cloud computing, experience working with DoD classified programs, and possess a background in partner and business development. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges and the skill-set to dive deep and develop and execute business development programs. Candidates are expected to have the ability to write and convey compelling customer value propositions and business case/financial proposals. Through your work across AWS, you will help drive top line revenue growth and customer success and adoption of the AWS Secret region for classified mission programs and applications.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and must currently possess an active Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance satisfy other security related requirements.
Key job responsibilities
As an AWS Sr. Business Development Manager for the Secret region, you will:
- Research, identify and develop strategies to expand business opportunities and adoption of the AWS Secret region.
- Identify DoD programs and organizations to share the classified cloud value proposition and business proposals.
- Collaborate with AWS sales and partner development teams to introduce the AWS Secret region to DoD customers and partners.
- Define, develop, and manage AWS Secret region focused programs and initiatives tailored to the DoD.
- Research and develop business cases to support detailed product feature requests.
- Develop and manage the creation of sales collateral to facilitate the business development process and customer adoption.
- Work collaboratively across AWS organizations and stakeholders to develop and execute the sales/business development plan.
- Partner with AWS marketing and other business development teams to develop new campaigns, programs, and go-to-market initiatives for the AWS Secret region.
- Develop approaches to increase adoption, revenue growth rates and workload retention rates.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 5+ years of business development, sales, and/or product management experience with classified defense programs, industry specific processes, enterprise Independent Software Vendors (ISV), and system integrator implementation organizations.
- 5+ years experience with U.S. DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG) Impact Level 6, Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG), ICD 503, ITAR, DFARS, and related compliance/security programs and processes specific to classified programs.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Secret or above
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience with technology transformation initiatives
- Strong technical competency in the areas of cloud computing, web services and enterprise software (ERP, PLM, MES, supply chain, logistics, etc.) and proven results introducing a product into new markets
- Self-motivated and a strong bias for action; willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what is necessary to meet team goals
- Experience working within the enterprise software development industry or consulting services
