As a business development manager for AWS GovCloud (US), you will have exciting opportunities to grow and expand the AWS GovCloud (US) customer and partner-base across US Federal and regulated industry markets. In this role, you will be focused on identifying capabilities that address problem sets germane to AWS GovCloud (US) customers in Federal Civilian (including Federal Finance), and building/executing go to market campaigns and that drive out-year growth for the region.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of cloud computing; possess a background in business development; and have proven results with influencing product management and introducing a product into new markets. Candidates must also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the skill-set to dive deep and tactically drive business development programs. Success requires the ability to formulate and manage a broad coalition of cross functional teams, set and drive performance goals.

Candidates are expected to have the ability to write and convey compelling customer value propositions and business case/financial proposals. Through your work across AWS, you will be responsible for driving out-year top line revenue growth, supporting strategic customer and partner relationships for the region, and overall adoption of AWS GovCloud (US).


Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Business Development Manager, AWS GovCloud (US) -- FedCiv/FedFin, you will:
• Research, identify and develop strategies to expand business in untapped solution areas and customer domains for the AWS GovCloud (US) region; including creation of new capabilities and solution sets to meet customer requirements and address emerging trends. Primary focus is the Federal Civilian segment, but candidate should be able to identify opportunities to scale capabilities across multiple market verticals (e.g. DoD, regulated industries).
• Work with cross functional teams (sales, solutions architecture, product engineering, etc.) to validate customer requirements, perform feasibility studies and proofs of concept, and define and drive pathways to production adoption.
• Identify specific customer segments, industry verticals and partner markets to approach with targeted value propositions and business case proposals leveraging the AWS GovCloud (US) region. Work with the AWS capture, sales and partner development teams to introduce the AWS GovCloud (US) region to customers and partners.
• Research and develop business cases to support detailed product feature requests in the AWS GovCloud (US) region.
• Define, develop and manage GovCloud-focused AWS programs and initiatives tailored to specific markets and customer segments.
• Collect, create, and manage the creation of sales and marketing collateral to facilitate the business development process.
• Monitor customer onboarding and adoption; develop approaches to increase adoption, revenue growth rates and workload retention rates of AWS GovCloud (US).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of a combination of business development, sales, and/or product management experience, specifically for solutions focused on the US Federal Civilian and regulated industry markets.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing and the public sector, and experience with FedRAMP and other compliance/security regimes germane to public sector (e.g. FIPS, NIST, DOD SRG, ITAR).
- Strong presentation, verbal communication, written skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree is required; concentrations in either business or computer science preferred.
- Ownership oriented; ability to internalize goals and create and execute appropriate action plans.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA preferred.
- Strong technical competency in the areas of cloud computing, web services and enterprise software.
- Experience working within the federal system integrator, enterprise software development industry or consulting services.
- Business Development, Capture, Technical Program Management and/or Executive Sales experience leading federal IT and application modernization programs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize well in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
- Strong analytical orientation; comfort using databases and analytical tools and making data-based decisions, particularly customer relationship management tools.
