• Will become a trusted AWS Technology Architect helping to develop and deliver on strategic P&U industry trends to support utilities as they transition their workloads to the cloud.
• Will partner with Partner Development Managers to create and present meaningful partner-facing architectures of widely varying size and complexity and be a key member of a core team establishing digital utility best practices.
• Will support revenue growth across a broad set of utility customers by identifying and recruiting strategic industry partners.
• Will excel in collaborating with commercials, presales, service engineering and delivery teams.
• Will capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community

In this role, you will need to be technically capable, enjoy learning and introducing new technology in order to help colleagues, partners, and customers embrace and adopt that technology. You will also need to be proficient at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, and professional services.
Position may require traveling (roughly 25%) to meet partners and customers.

• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services onto the AWS platform
• Build repeatable mechanisms, architectures, solutions, and playbooks to enable faster, cheaper, predictable, and risk-free workload migrations and development on AWS
• Define and execute on the industry technology strategy by engaging highly technical teams within AWS (other Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, professional services consultants and consulting/managed services partners) to architect innovative Energy and Utility digital workloads.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
• Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices
• Share industry customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS
• Work with the team to drive POCs to completion
• Work with the team to organize technical workshops and facilitate the sharing of knowledge across teams
• Build deep relationships with decision makers within partner accounts to enable them to be “Cloud Advocates”
• Strategy & Innovation: articulate business/industry fundamentals (e.g., ROI, TCO, cost benefit analysis); understand regulations and operational excellence; familiarity with business strategy and trends in the IT industry (e.g., CI/CD, Migration, AI…etc.)
• Technology Breadth: demonstrate architectural best practices applied across a breadth of technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views/roadmaps for future development, and understand the interaction between infrastructure, operations, and development

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
- Experience architecting solutions built on AWS
- Experience with building, validating and deploying GenAI models and applications
- Background in the power & utilities industry including customer service
- Familiarity with utility customer systems – Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, Kraken, Gentrack
