The North American Lead will be the external point of contact for Project Kuiper’s service compliance obligation deliverables in front of communications regulators (e.g., the Federal Communications Commission, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, and the Federal Telecommunications Institute). This role will use their specific knowledge of communications regulation to advance Kuiper’s policy interests by coordinating complex compliance filings, maintaining effective lines-of-communication with relevant regulatory bodies and developing mechanisms to ensure scalability. Deliverables will include the filing of complex revenue and subscribership reporting, regulatory fee payments, network availability reporting, and all other obligation deliverables to be submitted directly to regulators.

Key job responsibilities
* Interface directly with North American Regulators to drive Kuiper Compliance strategy and perform advocacy consistent with Kuiper’s policy priorities
* Develop and optimize mechanisms to ensure accurate and timely filing of complex communications service provider compliance filings
* Aligns directly with Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, Public Policy and Global Expansions on Communications Service Provider matters
* Ensure timely and accurate compliance filings related to the regulatory obligations that arise as a result of Project Kuiper’s status as a communications service provider (e.g., revenue reporting, subscribership reports)
* Coordinate across Kuiper entities, and across Amazon addressing the unique nature of Kuiper operating as a global Communications Service Provider
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* A minimum of 3-5 years performing regulatory advocacy to support complex compliance requirements
* A minimum of 3-5 years supporting the Telecommunications/Satellite industry or other highly regulated industries
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Direct knowledge of North American communications regulatory frameworks highly preferred
* Excellent ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
* Experience working directly with regulators on communications compliance obligations
* Experience translating complex compliance requirements into operational processes
* Secondary language skills preferred; Spanish preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
