This role is with our AWS Global Field Ops (GFO) process team – delivering a new way for Infrastructure to be delivered to our customers.
AWS GFO brings native AWS services, infrastructure, and operating models to non traditional environment. Customers can now use the same AWS APIs, tools, and infrastructure across their on-premises and the AWS cloud to deliver a truly consistent hybrid experience.
We are looking for a experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager who is highly autonomous, possesses a “can do” attitude and enjoys working on challenging, high impact problems.
In this role, you will be responsible for the creation of standard work processes that drive improved safety, security, availability, and efficiency on a global scale. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, and service teams to gather requirements to develop, deploy, measure, automate, and streamline key operational processes.
Successful candidates will be analytical, highly-organized, accustomed to working with technical teams across multiple geographic time zones, able to bridge the gap between business and tech, clear communicator, and interested in getting their "hands dirty" in the details of our business. The right candidate will bring great detail tracking and follow-through, and strong problem-solving and communications skills to anticipate bottlenecks/tradeoffs, provide escalation management and balance business needs against technical constraints.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify operational gaps, build new processes with stakeholders, create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) from the processes, and obtain reviews and approvals for the SOP, products and new business models.
- Taking a bird’s eye view “Big Picture”, overseeing and ensuring integration between the specific process and other processes (e.g. safety, security, availability, capacity and scaling).
- Write clear and detailed SOPs and functional requirements.
- Ensure there is optimal fit between people, process, and technology (tools).
- Auditing organizational efficiency as the advocate for customer objectives.
- Anticipate, identify, and drive resolution of technical challenges and inter-dependencies to reduce friction for customers.
- Update related training modules / serve as Point of Contact (POC) to training function.
- Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application.
- Stay informed about on-ground challenges of regional operational teams and frontline managers.
- Have a sense for the degree and types of communications leadership, middle management, developers and technicians each require to be an effective communicator.
- Demonstrate the ability to earn trust with those that have different perspectives, backgrounds and skill sets.
- Establish regular communication cadence with teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
- Experience defining and executing program requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
- Experience leading large and complex negotiations, risk and gap identification and mitigation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
