The AWS Risk and Resiliency team supports datacenter site selection through performing technical due diligence on prospective datacenter locations to identify liability, site development, and operational risks. The AWS Risk and Resiliency team is seeking an acoustic engineer to perform sound and vibration modelling of future AWS infrastructure to ensure expected sound levels are compliant with applicable standards and evaluate the potential risk to sensitive receivers. The role will also identify and detail any mitigating measures.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of a technical sound assessment and collaborate with team members to ensure projects meet timelines.
- Model the expected sound levels of datacenter equipment (use of CadnaA or SoundPLAN is preferred) and evaluate vibration on a project specific basis.
- Conduct ambient sound levels and/or equipment source measurements using a Type 1 or Type 2 sound level meter.
- Determine whether expected sound and vibration levels are compliant with applicable standards and evaluate the risk to sensitive receivers.
- Identify and detail any mitigating measures needed.
- Report on findings and summarize any identified risks to project timelines, costs, or feasibility.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of program or project management experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience handling confidential information
Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
