The Alexa Shopping group is seeking talented and experienced engineers to evolve the current package tracking experience (e.g., "Alexa, where is my stuff") on Alexa devices. You will bring the newer capabilities Alexa devices are exposing to Amazon's shopping world and pave the way to create unique experiences that weren't possible in the past. You will have the satisfaction of being able to look back and say you were a key contributor to something special from its earliest stages.
In this role, you will build and operate massively scalable services to power delightful hopping experiences various Alexa powered devices. You will be working closely with multiple partner teams in Alexa, and Amazon Retail.
Key job responsibilities
You will own the key package-tracking services for Alexa customers. A Software Development Engineer II on the team writes design and code to improve the customer experience. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior SDEs and contribute to design the next evolution of our services.
About the team
We intersect into a really fun space, working with both our traditional Retail systems and Alexa. Our goal is to provide real time package information to our customers and help them understand when to expect their packages.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
