You will work cross team with security, engineering, and operations teams to provide creative scalable solutions to complex problems. You will build automation and tooling to solve security problems at scale for our stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated logging, monitoring, and threat simulation infrastructure.
- Leverage scripting and automation skills (including AWS) to improve efficiency of organizational processes and tooling.
- Perform security consulting tasks, such as threat modeling, architecture diagramming, and troubleshooting.
- Create, and maintain security design documentation, runbooks, and metrics for a variety of engineering projects.
- Communicating and collaborating with partner teams, service owners, and other security teams, to build or troubleshoot services and escalating as required.
A day in the life
As a security engineer, you will work closely with security teams and stakeholders to perform various day-to-day activities related to ensuring the security of Amazon's systems. These tasks may include leveraging scripting skills to build, automate, and optimize network telemetry and threat simulation systems. Daily activities also include monitoring metrics, responding to alerts, and troubleshooting issues. You will be responsible for maintaining build pipelines and infrastructure stacks, while collaborating with stakeholders on detailed security design reviews.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering or related field and 3+ years of related industry experience
- Experience with any combination of the following: system administration, network security, and/or cloud infrastructure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Knowledge of ICS/OT (Industrial Control Systems/Operational Technology).
- Programming experience, network engineering, or OS administration (Linux, etc).
- Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, network traffic inspection, or threat simulation.
- Experience creating, deploying, and maintaining host and/or container systems.
- SANS, CCSP, CISSP, CCNP, JNCIP, OSCP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate, etc.
