We are seeking an outgoing, positive, passionate, talented, and innovative Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a passion for building cutting-edge enterprise data solutions and infrastructure components that are highly scalable, extensible, and robust. In this pivotal role, you will shape the vision, roadmap, and execution of the Data Strategy, focusing on Data as a Product and enabling data producers and consumers within engineering, analytics, and science teams across four large organizations.
You will Immerse yourself in the exciting world of AWS services (GLUE, EMR, DataZone, S3, Lambda, Redshift, QuickSight, SageMaker, etc.), third-party tools(Atlan), and drive best practices with Operational Excellence and CI/CD, delivering infrastructure as code (IaC). You will collaborate with stakeholders across the globe from Sr. Principal Engineers to Junior Engineers building trustworthy data solutions and for our stakeholders. As a Principal TPM in the DataTech organization, you will own DataTech programs, planning, customer, and stakeholder engagement, building internal mechanisms to maximize the capacity of DataTech across 3 main engineering teams(DE, BIE, Science) spread across five locations (Seattle, Austin, Nashville, London, India).
With 4 large organization and 20+ customer teams supporting 5000+ OTS employees, you will partner with peer PMTs and Engineering Managers to build customer-facing mechanisms, improving roadmap prioritization, transparency, and customer satisfaction. Key job responsibilities
Your multi-year program scope will be to lead Data as a Product across OTS, driving adoption through quality data, governance, security, technology needs, and trusted single source of truth metric reporting for business and customer metrics that drive World Wide Ops' success. You will also drive the strategy for critical program support initiatives, ensuring stakeholders, engineering teams, and customers are building trustworthy solutions for business-critical decision-making.
In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders, Data Engineers, BI Engineers, Data/Applied Science, and Machine Learning Engineers, partnering with cross-functional product teams to deliver high-quality, scalable data products. You will assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance business needs versus technical constraints, and encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefit. Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail-driven, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.
About the team
OTS DataTech is part of OTS under the Fulfillment Tech Robotics team and World Wide Ops.
We support OTS in enabling out stakeholders to have the data that drive business critical reporting and decision making through scalable technology and data solutions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical, non-technical and senior stakeholders
- Ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems in short timeframes by using experiments and data
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience in architectural design or system design independent of an architect
- Has experience working data teams building solutions for enterprise customers and stakeholders at scale.
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
