This is a high-visibility cross-functional role where you will work collaboratively with Engineers, Scientists, PMTs, Directors and business partners across functions. This position requires excellent statistical and analytical abilities as well as deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions and data engineering practices. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, possess a strong attention to detail, and able to collaborate with customers to understand and transform business problems into requirements, experiments, and deliverables.

The Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) owns Amazon’s global inventory planning and fulfillment systems. SCOT decides what, when, who, where, and how much inventory to buy in order to meet customer needs as well as Amazon’s business goals. SCOT optimizes transportation and fulfillment plans to help our Customers get what they need, as fast as possible. Within SCOT, you will be part of the Fulfillment Optimization (FO) Product Team. The FO team is responsible to develop systems, metrics, and innovative products that most effectively support the leveraging of our powerful, and ever-growing 1P and 3P fulfillment supply chain. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
