It’s truly Day 1 for our team in AWS. This is your opportunity to be a founding member of a new team that’s building a suite of AWS Apps and Services to tackle a huge new problem space. You’ll be an integral part of building services that leverage cutting edge AWS technologies like SageMaker, Forecast, Athena, QuickSight, Glue, and more. As an early member of the team, you’ll wear many hats. You’ll help design the overall architecture, contribute to the product vision, and establish the technology processes and practices that will lay the groundwork for the organization as it grows.
As part of the team, you'll be building highly visible, robust automation tools and to tackle hard to solve problems. Working backwards from customer needs, you will identify the right sets of tools to build to achieve the best quality and customer experience. You will drive test automation efforts for critical and complex technical projects spanning multiple teams. You will be responsible for driving improvements in test tools, test environments and reporting mechanisms as well as influence the implementation of the right solutions.
You will also be owning the design and code modules for infrastructure, application, and processes to help us build the Machine Learning training and inference platforms.

Key job responsibilities
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
3+ years experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
3+ years experience developing automation in at least one of OO languages - Python, C++, Java or web based technologies
3+ years experience in test framework design and development
3+ years experience automating cloud native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure
3+ years experience developing cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools: Jenkins, CloudFormation, Code Deploy (AWS) and/or GitLab

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development testing experience
- 2+ years of test automation frameworks and tools building experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- 3+ years experience automating cloud native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure
- 3+ years experience developing cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools: Jenkins, CloudFormation, Code Deploy (AWS) and/or GitLab
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment
- Experience with security in service-oriented architectures and web services
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, tools, services, and physical devices
- Experience with QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an SDET role
- Experienced in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
