For more than 11 years, Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) has been the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. AWS offers over 100 fully featured services to millions of active customers around the world—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—to power their infrastructure. Within AWS, the Energy & Utilities Industry Business Unit (IBU) is responsible for supporting the multi-national enterprise organizations from the Energy & Utilities sector in their journey to the cloud. The Energy & Utilities IBU is a diverse organization comprised of Global Account Managers, Solution Architects, Customer Success and Partner Sales Managers, Go-to-Market Specialists, Industry Products and Solutions and Business Operations professionals situated across the globe. We are a team of builders that set out every day to innovate on behalf of AWS’s largest customers and disrupt the status quo. We don’t sit back and watch the world change; we’re the ones changing it. The Energy & Utilities IBU is looking for curious and inventive builders who want to join the team and help shape its future.

The Sales Strategy & Programs Lead (SSPL) is in charge of building the strong operational backbone required for the successful execution of the IBU’s strategic growth pillars. As part of that work the SSPL will lead the creation of sales plays and programs, will partner with Sales and Marketing to build the right motions for penetrating greenfield territories and will accelerate the growth of industry solutions sales. As a key member of the Business Strategy and Operations team, the SSPM is an expert in sales operations activities, including but not limited to sales forecasting, revenue routing, territory design, goals and quota setting, pipeline management, and organizational planning.

The successful candidate has analytical experience, broad sales operations technical skills, solid business acumen, strong communications and collaboration skills, and demonstrated ability to both execute and influence. They must be willing to roll up their sleeves, dive deep to learn, be comfortable working with ambiguity, and have a passion for driving operational excellence. They will partner closely with and be a trusted advisor to the IBU Sales, Business Development, Products & Solutions and Sales Operations Leadership team, and will provide thought leadership and support across the organization. The SSPL is an excellent communicator working across the organization to build strong relationships and is able to effectively tie insights to business strategy and results. They are proactive problem-solvers, looking around corners to identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities for process and data improvement.

The Sales Strategy & Programs Lead should be familiar with the Energy industry, or have a strong interest and drive to develop a deep subject matter expertise of the Energy Industry.
