Your role will be to build and deploy compliance mechanisms in partnership with business, tech, and operations partners to improve compliance across middle-mile inbound and outbound operations. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You must be comfortable diving deep on the strategic, technical, and tactical levels, simultaneously acting as an internal ambassador, educator, analyst, solutions architect, and implementer. You will think up, propose, design, and implement BIG ideas to improve compliance across a blend of internal customers and external drivers and carriers. You must be customer obsessed.
This role will incorporate technology process paths support automation, process improvement through vertical business lines, carrier engagement, and site voice of the customer feedback, and people management. This role will be the face of compliance, overseeing the direct relationship between compliance and our valued carriers.
Role will require 20% travel (or 10 weeks per year) to corporate locations to build relationships with your team, meet with critical tech stakeholders, and work with other Senior Program Managers within Compliance.
Key job responsibilities
-Deliver complex, large scale, strategic programs from initiation through delivery, on-time and with quality.
-Proactively identify and mitigate program risks and obstacles by collaborating closely with operations and business partners and key tech and non-tech stakeholders. This includes effectively communicating with, and influencing, directors, S-Team stakeholders across multiple parts of the organization.
-Become an expert in compliance trends, root causes, and then design and implement creative solves. This will include development of complex queries, and will require strong capacity in data, business analytics.
-Build, design, and implement policy and process to reduce compliance risk and liability from on-road operations.
-Identify defects and root cause drivers of compliance trends, scope future state solutions, influence roadmap decisions, and measure the effectiveness of solutions that are implemented over time.
-Engage with drivers, carriers, and Amazon field teams and other Amazon teams to gain Voice of Customer feedback to improve our programs.
-Provide onsite technology support to Yard & Gate teams, carrier engagement, TOM site-level observations, and carrier painpoint analysis through field engagement.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience writing documents on topics such as process improvement proposals, business requirements, product roadmap, and proof of concept. Proven capability working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with demonstrated problem solving ability as demonstrated by previous work, investigations, and/or projects requiring data analysis.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse set of business and technology stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, manage risk and resolve conflict.
- Willingness to travel 20% or more to Amazon's corporate locations.
- Passion for leading complex teams and driving organizational change.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with insurance (auto)
- Green or Black Belt, Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Experience
- MBA, or Masters in a quantitative field
- Intimate knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and US Department of Transportation (DOT) safety & regulatory compliance
- Exceptional SQL programming skills for modifying and extracting information from relational databases, building complex queries and joining tables from scratch
