This individual will work with other engineers to support Amazon Operations' physical security system infrastructures, including: access control, video management systems, visitor management, and incident management systems.
The Security Integrations Group is a 24/7 operation, and shift work will be required, potentially including nights and weekends.
Key job responsibilities
· Day-to-day support operations of a fast-paced complex distributed physical security infrastructures
· Responding to telephone, ticket and e-mail requests in a professional, efficient manner
· Performing various programming and technical project / administrative related activities on the security systems
· Following standard procedures for proper escalation of issues to the appropriate teams
· Reviewing and recommending logical and technical design as defined by documented standards
· Documenting knowledge in the form of knowledge base Wiki articles
· Ability to work shifts that include holidays and weekends
· Participating in an on-call rotation
About the team
Security Integrations Group (SIG), a part of the Global Physical Security (PhySec) group, is primarily an engineering team for Amazon's physical security systems across the globe, but also participates in the design, development, deployment, and project management aspects of these systems. SIG provides 24/7 customer support for physical security systems. SIG provides 24x7 support via support engineering teams in AMER, APAC, and EMEA. Engineers are available in-office at all times.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 2+ years of customer facing IT role or physical security systems/infrastructure work experience
- Experience scripting in PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Associates degree or higher in Information Technology, Communications, Business, Criminal Justice, or similar.
- Experience managing projects with shifting priorities
- Knowledge of computer networking basics
- Experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners
- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS, networks and operating systems
- Experience with physical security systems (such as Lenel, Honeywell, AMAG, Bosch, Milestone) or their associated hardware
- Ability to program to solve problems and automate repetitive tasks in a common scripting languages such as PowerShell, VBScript and Perl
- Hold a current ASIS CPP, APP or PSP certification
