Amazon’s North America Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (NA RME) strategy team is seeking an experienced and highly collaborative professional to lead strategic programs around personnel, vendor solutions, and workforce efficiencies. NA RME maintains and optimizes facilities ranging from large, modern, purpose-built warehouses utilizing robotics and high-volume conveyance all the way through the value chain to small, high speed warehouses placed as close to our customers as possible. The Principal Program Manager role is responsible for developing and delivering several network-level programs through collaboration with several stakeholders including the People Experience & Technologies (PxT), Employee Relations (ER), Procurement, and Talent Acquisition (TA) teams amongst others. These programs will focus on multi-year strategies to increase the talent calibration through sustained pathways, while identifying business synergy opportunities around workforce solutions. The role requires a strong delivery record and proven program management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional organizational design programs. This role requires extensive experience in scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. The person’s location is flexible and will be attached to a nearby NA RME site, while requiring up to 25% travel.


Key job responsibilities
• Document and track progress against product/program launch milestones, highlight blockers, track risks & issues as well as path to green or mitigation plans; Report progress for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.
• Partner with stakeholders and collaborate across program lifecycle through key stages (Ideation, Pilot, Scale, and Sustain)
• Anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing business needs versus operational or procedural constraints.
• Ensure clear communication and coordination of both risks and mitigation mechanisms with global stakeholders across internal and external teams.
• Create or optimize cross-org structures and mechanisms to accelerate progress.
• Identify, prioritize and communicate key areas for service and business improvement along the key operations metrics.
• Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
• Write business (MBR, OP) documents reporting of metrics and insights to both internal and external teams.


About the team
NA RME Strategy team is the central arm for the NA RME field as it pertains to organizational, business, provider, and talent strategy programs. Our team partners with business leaders (L7+) and key stakeholders (ER, PxT, TA, Compensation, Central RME and Finance) to drive programmatic improvement in the areas of labor costs, business readiness, and organizational goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
- Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level
- Experience in the areas of organizational design, career progression, and maintenance role requirements at a network level.
