The ideal candidate will have a background in transportation and logistics, with excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for communicating directly with external partners such as carriers and suppliers to resolve daily freight movement issues. This role requires the ability to quickly understand business impacts, pull and analyze data from multiple systems, and drive process improvements to eliminate root causes of defects.
Key job responsibilities
• Maintain constant, tactical communication with external freight partners (carriers, suppliers, and customers) and internal stakeholders (product, business intelligence, sales, and fulfillment centers)
• Expertly pull data from various databases using tools like Excel, SQL, and Access to perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis
• Publish performance metrics to help drive business results and identify areas for improvement
• Systematically escalate issues or data variances to the appropriate teams and follow through on resolutions
• Meet tight deadlines to address critical business needs while tracking and measuring your own activities
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to present findings and recommendations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Are 18 years of age or older
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon work experience
- Degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field
- Expertise in MS Access and SQL
- Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma
- Experience in manufacturing, transportation, customer service, and/or distribution environments
- Demonstrated experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement.
