The Infrastructure Operations organization is looking for an extraordinary individual with proven and tested leadership and management skills as a leader in our facilities operations organization in Eastern Oregon as a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Cluster Manager.

A DCEO Cluster Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing Area Managers and/or Facility Managers who own data center facility infrastructure.

The ideal candidate for this role will have an understanding of data center IT infrastructure, data center facilities infrastructure, and understand how the two coexist. If this understanding is contextual you will be served well by your experience.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities
· Hiring, managing, and developing the data center engineering and operations management team.

· Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency.

· Facilitating the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build outs, new colo build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colo expansions, including server hardware install, troubleshooting and repair, security system install, troubleshooting and repair, and related Operations tasks.

· Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon datacenters to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management.

· Vendor management of colocation data center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s.

· Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.

· Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.

· Creating collaborative documents that help the business solve complex challenges related to data center operation and maintenance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science (other related fields), or equivalent work experience.
· 5+ years of experience operating as a manager of managers.
· 10+ years of relevant experience managing data center operations, facility engineering operations, critical environment facilities, datacenter build-outs and scaling, or similar.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters Degree in Engineering and Business Administration, or related fields.
· Proven ability to hire, develop, and manage high-performing technical teams.
· Expert knowledge of data center mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
· Prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team and/or product.
· Ability to operate independently as a manager of a geographically distributed Infrastructure Operations management team.
· Expertise in one or more continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
· Technical project manager or member of a project team for a new Data Center build out and start up.
· Knowledge of information technology infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, technologies and architectures, IT service delivery principles and best practices.
· Hardware install, troubleshooting and repair, security system install, troubleshooting and repair, and related Operations tasks.
· Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon Data Centers to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management.
· Vendor management of colocation Data Center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s.
· Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.
· Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
