The Worldwide Carbon team is seeking a Sr. Lead, Transition Pathways and Engagement
to support our interim decarbonization pathways and our path to reach net-zero carbon. The ideal candidate will leverage their past experience engaging customers and stakeholders on decarbonization strategies to facilitate industry partnerships, expand Amazon’s decarbonization objectives in coalitions, and advance our interim strategies with our primary Business Units and customers.

The Sr. Lead will also engage and convene standard-setting organizations and other stakeholders to collaboratively develop frameworks to speed the transition to a net-zero carbon future.

Key job responsibilities
- Proactively build partnerships and coalitions across industry, multilateral organizations, standard-setting bodies, and civil society to develop and implement sectoral decarbonization strategies.
- Coordinate and manage communication among internal Amazon teams, our network of partners, and external stakeholders and community groups.
- Engage standard-setting organizations and other stakeholders with the aim of decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors, particularly APAC.
- Support outreach and engagement by managing and expanding our membership in coalitions.
- Collaborate with external partners and with cross-functional teams across Amazon to develop and deploy decarbonization strategies and expand our impact.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in the field of decarbonization pathways, particularly in the Global South. .
- At least 5 years living and working in the Global South.
- Experience investing in core infrastructure sectors (power, transportation, etc.).
- Experience collaborating and managing initiatives and projects across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment and decision-making skills.
- Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest levels of an institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent.
- A minimum of [5] years of relevant work experience in structured project finance, public finance, and/or climate finance.
- A minimum of [5] years of relevant working within multilateral development banks, development finance institutions, or related NGOs.
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in blended finance and private sector development, especially in APAC, sub-Saharan Africa and/ or Latin America.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
